Gloves
Our hands are our most important tools at work and are exposed to many different risks in various work environments throughout the day. It is therefore important to choose the right type of gloves to minimize the risk of accidents.
How do I choose the right work glove?
The gloves should be properly labeled and documented to meet the required standards. They should also not contain any harmful substances that can cause allergic reactions. Choosing the right gloves can be difficult, especially when it comes to choosing the right chemical protective gloves. To facilitate the choice, our chemical protection tables are available. Here you will find more information that we consider important to know about gloves. Choosing gloves can also be difficult as there are so many different types and models to choose from. Read more about different types of gloves here.
Several different materials with different properties are used in protective gloves in relation to the need. Protective gloves should be flexible, comfortable, and durable while protecting against various risks. In our material guide, you can read about our various materials that are commonly used in protective gloves.
Protective gloves are divided into 3 different CE categories depending on the type and risk or danger that the gloves are intended to protect against.
- Category 1 - gloves that can be used in low-risk situations.
- Category 2 - all types of gloves that are not classified as category 1 or 3.
- Category 3 - gloves that should be used in hazardous environments and where there is a high risk of serious injury occurring.
You can find a more detailed description of these under our standards for gloves.
Risks we expose our hands to
The most common work-related injury is cutting injuries to the hands, often of a nature that is not life-threatening. This is usually caused by knives, razor blades, cardboard/paper, and other sharp materials such as sheet metal. Read more about the risk area of cutting injuries.
When working with different types of chemicals, it is important to choose the right type of protective gloves. The injuries that can otherwise occur range from irritated skin to, in the worst case, death. Read more about the risk area of chemicals.
