Shower complete with mixing valve 3890 for eyewash. Station with galvanised steel pipes. Shower head of acid-proof steel. Ball valve, stay-open, operated by a pull handle, with a pull rod for activation from a crawling position. Eyewash with automatic pressure and flow control, and a filter, in each spray head.
Supply designed for minimum flow of 170 l/min at 2.4 bar pressure applies for: model 3875, freestanding with eyewash 3866 with cover. Supply designed for minimum flow of 76 l/min at 2.4 bar pressure applies for: model 3876, freestanding with eyewash 3866 with cover; model 3877, freestanding with eyewash 3864 without cover; model 3878, wall-mounted with eyewash 3866 with cover; model 3879, wall-mounted with eyewash 3864 without cover.
As per AFS 2020:1
Access to the emergency shower must not be blocked. The emergency shower must be easy to activate both from a standing and a crawling position, and must provide sufficient water to prevent injury or the further development of an injury. The water must normally be tempered.
Definitions:
The term ‘normally’ in the regulatory texts means that the requirements of the section text must be fulfilled except in occasional cases when special circumstances require exceptions to be made. One such case may be that the workplace is only being used temporarily and safety can be maintained by other measures.
